We had a fantastic time at i42! We just wanted to say thank you to everyone for listening over the weekend and hope you enjoyed our coverage and thank you for your support!!! Don’t forget we will be back for i43 in August! Hopefully we’ll all have recovered from i42 by then!
Special thanks go to Multiplay! For having us, NOT kicking us out and letting us come back again for i43. A very big thank you to our sponsors, Roccat and Meroncourt for providing all the prizes!
That brings us nicely on to our competition winners! First of all, congratulations go to Zipp! Who won both the Pimp my PC competition and the G3 Song Parody. (Very well deserved after all the public humiliation he had to endure!) He walks away with a Roccat Mousemat and Kova mouse!
And also well done to Treeman! For winning our Minecraft building competition! Walking away with an Arvo+ Keyboard!
It seems the recent down time of the Playstation Network has been because of more than an upcoming update like many speculated. Sony have confirmed on the Official European blog that PSN’s account data has in fact been compromised by an unknown perpetrator. It is unknown how or why the service was attacked and the method used to gain entry to it’s users personal data.
Sony went on to say that they have “engaged” an outside security firm to investigate the situation and presumably report their findings on how the attackers penetrated the network. Apparently Sony are hard at work completely rebuilding and strengthening PSN in the light of this attack, but there is no official word yet on when service will recommence.
There are few experiences as a gamer that make you feel like you have actually impacted a world and made a difference. With Portal 2 however (Valves successor to the hugely successful Portal) there seems to be an experience available around every corner. As the test subject known only as Chell you find yourself catapulted through test chamber after test chamber of cleverly executed puzzles and quirky dialogue. Solving puzzles along the way you find yourself embroiled in something much deeper than the average puzzle game. At the games opening you see a world much different than you’re used to, as the sterile clinical environments of the original game have been reclaimed by nature. Both battered and dilapidated it seems that the laboratories of Aperture Science have come a long way, and something feels as if you’re not entirely blameless for this whole affair.
Thanks to Roccat and Rustlers Gamersafe we’ve got loads of prizes to be won both by listeners at home and at the event. Competitions are as follows:
The Skivvi Run – This will take place after the Pub Quiz on Saturday night, with the first one back from running from Grandstand to Barkley in their undies winning a Roccat Kulo headset, and the runners up winning a Rustlers voucher a piece.
The Achievement Cards: Handed out by G3 Radio staff at the event, the goal is to tick at least 9 of the 12 achievements off to win some Rustlers vouchers.
Pimp my PC: Participants email info@g3-Radio.net with a photo of their PC and seat number (if at the event) or corroborating evidence if a listener, and the staff decide which is most deserving of the Roccat Mousmat.
Kill the Presenter: Event participants can use cut-out daggers, grenades or poison bottles to tag G3 Radio presenters when they’re sleeping or otherwise not paying attention. Write your name and seat number on the cut-out and the person with most ‘kills’ gets two Rustlers vouchers.
With the exception if the Skivvi run, all prizes will be awarded on Monday around 2pm.
As usual when a new update to Minecraft is released it takes us a few days for mods and plugins to be be updated, so if you want to downgrade to play on the server please download this version of Minecraft.

According to Alice overlord American McGee, who told CVG the franchise doesn’t lend itself to typical perks of longevity like online multiplayer, but will boast a hefty DLC offering.
“There will be DLC in the form of dresses that the player can download and Alice can wear,” he told CVG. “Those dresses come with special abilities and enhance how you play through the game.”
Not only that but console version owners get the orginal Alice…
“There’s also going to be pretty significant release which is the original Alice brought over to the consoles so that a person who’s purchased Madness Returns gets a download code and is able to bring Alice 1 onto their console and play through the entire original game alongside playing Madness Returns.”
