PSN ‘Welcome back’ offer detailed for EU

With PSN half working Sony have detailed on the EU blog which free games all PSN users can pick:

LittleBigPlanet, inFamous, WipeOut HD/Fury, Ratchet & Clank: Quest For Booty and Dead Nation are listed of the five only two can be picked.

For PSP users LittleBigPlanet PSP, ModNation PSP, Pursuit Force and Killzone Liberation are listed only one of those can be chosen.

Playstation Plus is also offered with a free 30 days free, however current subscribers get 60 days free, and Music Unlimited subscribers get 30 days free as well.

All is not peachy with everyone though, Germany it seems instead of getting inFamous and Dead Nation will be swapped with Super Stardust HD and Hustle Kings on the PS3, on the PSP Pursuit Force and Killzone Liberation will be replaced with Everybody’s Golf 2 and Buzz Junior Jungle Party. Adding fuel to the fire many users already own many of these games as the games themselves are best selling titles.

Nick Caplin defended the offer: “We’ve tried really hard to put together a list of high quality BD games, rather than simply offering cheaper PSN titles, the average metacritic rating for these games is over 84 per cent, so these are high quality games” he states, “Unfortunately with a user base of 77m people, it is really hard to offer something for everyone”

Playstation Plus also came under fire due to the fact it’s titles deactivate after the 30 days, “Unfortunately that is the way PS Plus works, but if you look at as access to a lot of free content for a month, you should have a busy month of gaming.” Caplin explained.

  1. Well TBH it least it’s better the Undertow when Live was down ‘for maintenance’ for two week. Which I’m still pretty sure they got hacked.

Despite all the hate Sony have got for this, they’ve at least admitted fault and tried to come back strong with a descent offer.

I still find it funny how people blame Sony for their ‘stolen details’ and yet many invite everyone they can to their very publicly shown details on facebook
