PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FOLLOWING CONTENT IS SOLELY MY OPINION OF THE GAME/FILM BEING REVIEWED AND THAT THIS REVIEW WILL MORE THAN LIKELY CONTAIN SOME SPOILERS.

Over the years I’ve played many great games, but quite recently I was given the option to purchase a game of my choice from the Playstation store and my friends had been bugging me for months to try the Metal Gear Solid Series and all I have to say on the matter is, “Best Decision Ever.” I kid you not that game had me hooked from start to finish.

Now I know this game is quite old as games go, but looking at it from the perspective of when it was released, it has to be one the best looking games of its time. The story was involving, character development is Solid (No pun intended) and the bosses were diverse and some had me constantly on my toes. I also like the fact that I could access my Codec at anytime to ring up the likes of Otacon and the Colonel and ask for help.

Not many games have tugged on my heart strings, but this one did, I felt awful after defeating several bosses such as Sniper Wolf and Pscho Mantis, to here their stories made me feel sad for them, but I felt somewhat relieved as they’d caused me so much hassle throughout the game that I was glad to see their end. This game definitely lives up to what I was told and I can’t wait to get my hands on the sequels.

Recently announced was a Metal Gear Solid HD collection which contains Metal Gear Solid 2, 3 and a PSP to PS3 port of Peace Walker. I hope to purchase this HD collection and review it upon release.
